This durable and adaptable residence in Sint Joost in the Netherlands is clad with our Phoenix assortment. Phoenix is a facing brick with a warm colour range of shades of grey and brown. The brick is produced according to the Waterstruck process, which creates a special structure that gives each brick a unique character.

Owner Jos Beckers: “We were looking for a special brick for this house. Something different to the usual format and in a different colour. The brick merchant suggested smoked bricks. These were new to me, however, the smoked appearance and mix of colours appealed immediately. Let’s be fair, this type of decision is always down to my wife. To really make the difference we chose receding joins and no end joins. This, in combination with the Hilversum format, emphasizes the long lines and gives a sleek appearance. The bricks were already pre-sorted, but I have held every brick in my own hands in order to ensure this even distribution. The result speaks for itself.”
